Z-Wave Home Automation

Z-Wave technology converts your home to a smart home quickly, easily and affordably even when no provisions exist!

What is Z-Wave?

Z-Wave is a next-generation wireless communications protocol designed for home automation applications.

Z-Wave uses reliable and low-power radio waves that easily travel through walls, floors and cabinets. Z-Wave control can be added to almost any electrical device in your house, even devices that you wouldn't ordinarily think of as "intelligent" such as electrical appliances, window shades, thermostats and home lighting.

Why Z-Wave?

Z-Wave lets you control your home in ways that give you complete command even when you're not at home yourself. You can control your Z-Wave household remotely from a PC and the Internet from anywhere in the world...even through your mobile phone or smartphone!

*       Z-Wave Is Simple: Z-Wave control is easily added to almost any device in minutes. Simply plug the device you want to control into a Z-Wave module, and "join" it to your Z-Wave network!

*       Z-Wave Is Modular: With Z-Wave, you can add as much or as little home control as you want over time.  You can add Z-Wave to a device, a room, a floor or the entire home, according to your needs and desires.

*       Z-Wave Is Affordable: Unlike costly whole-home control systems that need special wiring and professional installation, Z-Wave is accessible and easy for the do-it-yourselfer.

*       Z-Wave Is Powerful: Z-Wave's intelligent mesh networking 'understands" the present status of any enabled device, and gives you confirmation that your devices have received the automatic or manual control commands you want.

*       Z-Wave Is Versatile: Z-Wave can be added to almost anything in your home that uses electricity, and gives you the power to control or monitor them from your home or away from home.

*       Z-Wave Is Intelligent: Z-Wave enabled devices can work together as a team.  Have your garage door turn on your house lights when you come home. Turn your downstairs lights off from upstairs.  Create your own intelligent control "scenes" with Z-Wave!

Appliances Control

Z-Wave unifies all your home appliances into an integrated wireless mesh network, with no complicated programming and no new cables to run. Any Z-Wave enabled device can be effortlessly added to this network, and many non-Z-Wave appliances can be made compatible by simply plugging them into a Z-Wave accessory module. In seconds, your device gets joined to the network and can communicate wirelessly with other Z-Wave modules and controllers. For example, you can control your bedsite lamps, electric kettle, electric blanket, aquarium lights and pumps and CCTV Cameras.

Lighting Control

Similarly you can replace your existing wall switches and dimmers with the Z-Wave range of products and fully control and monitor all your lights. Z-Wave can be configured to monitor the energy usage and can be programmed to switch off lights where no occupancy is detected.

Heating Control

Z-Wave heating control allows the individual control of heating behaviour per heating device or room and as a function of time. Heating systems are typically realised as wall-mounted radiators or floor heating. The wall radiators are controlled by Thermostatic Radiator Valves on each radiator while floor heating systems typically use a thermostat on the wall of the room to be controlled. These thermostats communicate with the floor heating via electrical wires. A time-driven regulation of heat per room helps to dramatically reduce energy, since rooms are only heated when really needed. Via Z-Wave networks the control of the heat and air condition can be centralized and even accessed remotely.  An example is a change of the heating state if a user comes home earlier than expected.

Curtain, Blinds and Rollers Control

Curtains, blinds and rollers and also motorised projection screens can be controlled wirelessly via Z-Wave. To do this the conventional analogue dual paddle (Up/Down) switch for motor control is replaced by a Z-Wave enabled wall switch or insert. These controls are typically offered as flush-mounted sockets with switching paddles for local operation or as pattress box inserts.

Individual blinds or a group of blinds can be controlled wirelessly. Combined with Vera2 controller the blind control can be made dependent on certain day times such as sunset and sunrise.
